FINE ART NEWBORN
My little man was born 4 days early – interrupting my Christmas dinner with his unexpected arrival. As a then clueless first-time mum I’ve seen first hand how quickly time passes and your baby changes. It’s astonishing, scary, a little bit sad and really exciting all at once!
It’s just so important to capture the tininess, the overwhelming love you experience when you first see them: the squishy lips, the back wrinkles, the soft hair, the tiny new person so amazingly perfect. I know now how quickly it all changes! This is what inspired me to train with the best, as a Fine Art Newborn and family photographer.
Through detailed posing and unique styling I’ll create fine art quality images that will help you cherish those memories forever. I use beautiful props, blankets, wraps and textures to create timeless images of your newborn in the first 14 days of their life. After your session you will have unique works of art to remember for years to come, long after the sleepless nights and late feeds are past.
These sessions take place in my custom built studio, where clients have access to all my equipment and can be sure that baby will be perfectly happy in this carefully temperature-controlled environment.
I reccommend that parents schedule their newborn sessions before the baby arrives to make sure they have a spot on my calendar! Contact me during your first or second trimester and I can mark you down. I prefer to book a date 5 to 7 days after your due date. I know that most babies do not arrive on that date, but it gives me an idea of when the session will actually happen. Put my name and number on the official “baby is here” call list and I can make arrangements for a time for the session.
THE STUDIO
At the Pip and Apple Newborn studio, I’ve created a cozy, welcoming environment for babies and parents alike, helping you feel right at home without the just-had-a-baby mess at your own house and creating the perfect environment for your sleepy baby.
The studio offers everything needed, from soft blankets and wraps for layering to minimalist props and textures that will enhance the image but not overtake your beautiful baby.
From photographing sessions and hand-editing the best images to packaging and presenting your beautiful artwork order, I love my home away from home, and hope that you will feel the same too!
THE EXPERIENCE
At Pip & Apple, I strive to offer unparalleled customer service and a stress-free experience for my clients. Most of my clients are new parents, busy trying to figure out the ins and outs of caring for a new baby, so I work to take care of as many of the details for you as possible.
The session takes place in my custom built heated studio and can last anything from 1 to 3 hours depending on how sleepy baby is, their feeding etc. During this time parents can chill out on the couch, have a cup of coffee, read a book…or as many of my parents do…have a cheeky little, well deserved, nap!
After your session, we’ll gather together at the studio for the best part – seeing your session images in all their gorgeousness! We’ll sort through proofs of your session images and I’ll provide expert guidance on how best to order and display your portraits.
